Career Corner - TIP OF THE MONTH
Job seekers often struggle to explain a recent termination during a job interview. If a prospective employer asks if you have ever been fired, the best way to answer is by giving an honest and brief explanation that emphasizes the positive.
Follow these tips when preparing your answer to the difficult question, "Have you ever been fired?"
Tell the truth about what happened, but don't offer too much detail.
Take responsibility for some portion of the situation that you feel comfortable discussing.
Place emphasis on what you learned from the experience.
Know your answer ahead of time and practice what you will say to avoid stumbling in an interview.
