Although the air will be noticeably thin at the s
tarting line, Echo Lake's 10,600 feet of elevation is just the beginning. T
he climb totals nearly 4,000 vertical feet - much of it above treeline - as
you make your way 14.5 miles to the finish line located at the summit of o
ne of the most recognizable peaks on Denver's mountain skyline - 14,264 foo
t Mt. Evans.

COURSE RECORD BONUS: Our cour
se record bonuses start at $250, with $100 added for every year the record
goes unbroken. We saw a new course record for women in 2016, so the course
record bonus for women in 2017 will be $350. The men's record has gone unbr
oken since 2008, so in 2017 the men are gunning for a $1150 course record b
onus!
OVERALL PRIZE MONEY: In 2018, the top-3 overal
l male and female finishers will win $300, $150, and $100 cash prizes for t
heir performances on the mountain. The fastest male and female master's fin
ishers (age 40+) will also win a $100 cash prize.
FINISHER AW
ARDS: In addition to age group and overall winner awards, All finishers will receive a custom Mt. Evans Ascent finisher's medal. In addition,
all men who finish in
under 2 hours 40 minutes, and all women who finish under 3 hours
will receive a trophy rock marked with the year of the race. This
is a tradition from the 70's and 80's that we revived in 2012. Please see

DATE & TIME: The Race will start pr
omptly at 6:30 a.m. on Saturday June 9th. Summit Bags must be loaded into t
ruck by 6:00 a.m. Additional information on the event will be emailed to co
mpetitors approximately 1 week prior to the event.
PACKET PIC
K-UP: Race Morning Packe
t Pick-Up will be available at the start line on race morning starti
ng at 5:00am. A PHOTO ID is REQUIRED to pick up your packet, and only you can pick up your race number - no exceptions. You will rece
ive your bib number, participant goody bag, race shirt, and timing chip in
your racer packet. No bib transfers will be allowed on race morning.
Early Packet Pick-Up will
be available on Friday June 8th. Details will be available shortly. A PHOTO ID is REQUIRED to pick up your packet, and only you can p
ick up your race number - no exceptions. You will receive your bib number,

WEATHER: Mt. Evans has weather of its own, and no forecast seems to be able to na
il down exactly what you'll see at the summit. This forecast, however, shou
ld give you an idea what to expect on Mt. Evans. Generally, mornings are ni
ce, with any stormy weather moving in during the afternoon hours. Of course
, weather on the mountain can pull some surprises!

IES: A portion of every entry will be donated to Alpine Rescue. Th
ey will be providing on-course support during the Mt. Evans Ascent, and vol
unteer year-round support to the community. You may also make an additional
donation to Alpine Rescue when you register!
