 mark honorees for 2018. GLA (www.goldenlandmarks.com) has selected two indi
 viduals and two organizations as this year’s recipients; each has a long hi
 story of commitment to Golden. GLA is hosting its seventeenth Living Landma
 rks Dinner this year. The event recognizes individuals and organizations wh
 ose dedication to Golden has had a positive impact on the City and greater 
 community. This year GLA will recognize Joy & Jack Brandt, Calvary Chur
 ch Golden, Buffalo Bill Days and Conrad Gardner. Joy & Jack Brandt have
  long given their hearts and their time to Golden. Through the years they h
 ave served on the Boards of the Golden Chamber of Commerce and Leadership G
 olden. They were fundraisers for the construction of the Golden Visitors Ce
 nter; Jack on the Board of Directors since its inception. In addition, Jack
  served on the Foothills Art Center Board and Joy on the Jefferson Symphony
  Board. Joy has served as a Board member of the Golden Civic Foundation, an
 d as volunteer and Advisor for the annual Golden Civic Foundation Auction s
 ince the mid-1970’s. Buffalo Bill Days’ roots draw from the commemorative t
 rail ride of the Buffalo Bill Saddle Club to Buffalo Bill’s Grave on the to
 p of Lookout Mountain. It began in the 1950’s and has now evolved into a fo
 ur day festival. Buffalo Bill Days is a nonprofit that gives back to the co
 mmunity with four Golden High School scholarships. In addition, it lends su
 pport to the Golden Backpack Program, Christian Action Guild, Lions Kidsigh
 t and a community rehab program, Be-A-Tool. In addition, they produce the b
 iggest family friendly weekend event in Golden with over 30,000 attendees. 
 Calvary Church Golden was founded in 1867, just 8 years after the town of G
 olden was established. In 2017, Calvary celebrated their 150th anniversary.
  Members of the Calvary community and church leadership have routinely serv
 ed and worked for the benefit of the Golden community, supporting organizat
 ions such as the St. Francis Center, the Golden Neighborhood Rehab Project,
  the Golden Rescue Fund and the Calvary Food Shelf just to name a few. Conr
 ad Gardner served the Golden community for over 50 years as an attorney and
  as a leader of the Jefferson County Library and Golden Landmarks Associati
 on. He enjoyed a long life of service to the Law, the armed forces, many di
 fferent charities, the government and historic preservation. Conrad will be
  honored posthumously, having passed away since his selection as a Living L
 andmark of Golden. Honorees will be recognized on Friday, May 4th, 2018 in 
 the Canyon Room at Mount Vernon Canyon Club in Golden, Colorado. For more i

 second oldest historic preservation organization in Colorado and a qualifie
 d 501(c)3 not-for-profit, GLA is dedicated to preserving Golden’s history a
 nd educating both residents and visitors about the Golden area. Our efforts
  to preserve Golden’s rich history have helped achieve the restoration and 
 preservation of many local landmarks. They include the Astor House Museum, 
 Burgess House and buildings within Golden’s Clear Creek History Park. We we
 re instrumental in the establishment of Golden’s three historic districts a
 nd our current projects include the restoration of the Brickyard House, cur
 ating the Ronzio photographic collection and the Pete Morrison collection.
