How tough are you? Evergreen Park & Recreation District (EPRD) invites runners to compete in the 2023 Evergre en Trail Racing Series, a four-race series of running events on mountainous terrain around scenic Evergreen and our mountain community. Distances rang e from a 5k to an epic half-marathon to the top of Bergen Peak (elevation 9 ,708 feet), a climb of well over 2,000 vertical feet.

Please note there are no race refunds, transfers or credits.

Pick up your race bib on race day. Ple ase bring a reusable water bottle to the races. There will be no water/aid stations on the course; this Series will be cup-free.

Please Note: In the event of inclement weather or unforeseen trail conditions the race dir ector reserves the right to delay, cancel, move or reschedule the race. The re will be no refunds in the event of a race cancellation.

Evergreen Trail Race Series

Bergen Peak Half Marathon - June 3

This race is epic! Bergen Peak runners will endure the rolling hills of Elk Meadow and the strenuous swit chbacks of Bergen Peak and Too Long Trail. While ascending approximately 1, 500 feet, runners will peak at a total elevation of 9,000 feet as they cove r this 13.1 mile course. Participants should meet at the Buchanan Park Recr eation Center near the Pioneer Trailhead. Download the race map (PDF).

Elk Meadow Trail Race 5k & 10k - July 8

This 5K/10K race leads runners throughou t the rolling hills of Elk Meadow Open Space Park. Runners will start on Pi oneer trail and head clockwise around the meadow. The first stretch is a st eady downhill along highway 74. From there, runners will weave their way up to where they will run through the trees along the foot of the mountain.

The course then shoots runners back out into the meadow to reconnect w ith Pioneer Trail to the finish line. Participants should meet at the Bucha nan Park Recreation Center near the Pioneer Trail head. Download the race map (P DF).

Staunton State P ark 20k - August 12

Join us at Staunton State Park for a beautiful 2 0k trail race. Runners will start at 8,215 feet of elevation and reach an e levation of 9,579 feet at the Eagle Cliff Overlook. Please bring a water bo ttle. Download a race map (PDF).

Evergreen Mountain - September 16

The Evergreen Mountain Trail Race featu res over nine miles of peaks and valleys. Participants pass the four rock f ormations called the Three Sisters and Little Brother as they weave their w ay throughout the course. The ascent up Evergreen Mountain features an elev ation gain of over 1,000 feet, with runners ultimately reaching an elevatio n of 8,400 feet. After completing the summit loop, runners sprint down Ever green Mountain to the finish.
