  members are invited to attend a free Safety in Faith Workshop. In addition
  to presentations from experts in the field of safety and security, informa
 tion will be available at vendor booths before and after the workshop.Title
 : Managing Situations Involving Mental Health\nPresenter: Amanda Davis, Men
 tal Health Specialist, Jefferson County Public Health\nDescription: In rece
 nt years, faith leaders and church safety team members have seen an increas
 e in the number of visitors to their facility who are experiencing mental h
 ealth issues. Amanda will explain some of the reasons for this increase and
  share crucial information that will aid greeters, safety team members, and
  leadership in peacefully managing visitors who may be in crisis. She will 
 offer practical response methods that are designed to help diffuse potentia
 lly difficult encounters through self-regulation. Attendees are sure to lea

 rs.\nFAQ:\nDo I have to belong to a faith-based organization to attend?No. 
 \n\nOver the past decade, houses of worship have increasingly become soft t
 argets for attack, and this training addresses those concerns. That said, t
 his is a public event open to anyone interested in learning how to provide 
 safety and security in a building-gathering setting.Does this violate the c
 oncept of separation of church and state?No. \n\nThe Safety in Faith progra
 m provides safety information to houses of worship in the county. We offer 
 the annual Safety in Faith training to all houses of worship regardless of 
 denomination. This program does not violate the separation of church and st
 ate concept because we are not advocating any religion or faith over anothe
 r or sponsoring religious activities.\nWe also provide safety information a
 nd presentations to businesses, schools, and other organizations and groups
  within our jurisdiction. The Safety in Faith program is titled such becaus
 e the information offered through the program addresses specific safety con
 cerns houses of worship face that many of these other organizations do not.
  Religious sites can be a target for violence. Many religions operate with 
 an open door policy (i.e., everyone is welcome), thus exposing them to dang
 ers that private businesses, schools, and other organizations do not share.
 However, the Safety in Faith Summit is a public event; anyone interested is
