 pening Celebration April 13</strong></span></p><p><span style="font-size: 1
 0pt;">(Lakewood, Colo. – March 27, 2024) The Jefferson County Public Librar
 y (JCPL) is pleased to announce that the redesign of the Evergreen Library 
 is complete and the Library will reopen to patrons on April 1, 2024. An Eve
 rgreen Library Reopening celebration is planned for Saturday April 13, 2024
 , from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The community is invited to enjoy a fun day of acti
 vities, including a ribbon-tying, tours and a bingo activity. Patrons will 
 also receive a commemorative sticker (while supplies last).</span></p><p><s
 pan style="font-size: 10pt;">“We can’t wait to welcome the community back i
 nto the newly redesigned Evergreen Library! We retained the best parts of t
 he library while enhancing the space with natural light, modern materials a
 nd flexible spaces to meet the needs of the community,” said Donna Walker, 
 JCPL Executive Director. “This project reflects our strategic priorities to
  reach more people, focus on building literacies, continue to be the third 
 place and grow sustainably.”</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Th
 e redesign of the 17,367-square-foot library, originally constructed in 199
 3, reflects JCPL’s vision of being an essential destination where all gener
 ations connect, discover and create. The new space includes technology upgr
 ades that support digital equity in the transformation of service delivery,
  which contributes to our mission of building an educated and vibrant commu
 nity by providing equal access to information and opportunities. Systems an
 d structure maintenance were also addressed during the redesign.</span></p>
 <p><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Board of Trustees Chair Kim Johnson remar
 ked, “Evergreen Library is truly unique in the JCPL library system, which i
 s only reinforced with this redesign. Modern mountain finishes, lots of nat
 ural light, a nod to sustainability and stewardship and those amazing views
 ! It’s beautiful and functional.” The Evergreen Library closed in August of
  2023 for redesign work. Limited library services were made available to re
 sidents at the Evergreen Parkway Temporary Library. The Evergreen Library r
 edesign project was approved by the JCPL Board of Trustees as part of its F
 acilities Master Plan and is budgeted for through the Library’s 5-year Capi
 tal Improvement Plan. It was made possible by the taxpayers of Jefferson Co
 unty and the fiscal stewardship of the Library Board of Trustees.</span></p
