 rewitt Reservoir on September 5, from 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM.\nAbout 50% of the
  world’s shorebird species are in decline, and essential habitat is being l
 ost at an alarming rate. This year September 6 has been designated as World
  Shorebirds Day.  For a week on either side of that date people all over th
 e world will be conducting shorebird surveys as professionals and as public
  participants to gather data that can help in guiding shorebird conservatio

 org.  This date tends to coincide roughly with the peak of shorebird migrat
 ion here in Colorado, and we will be getting out to see what we can find at
  a couple of northeast Colorado’s better-know shorebird sites, making a sma
 ll contribution to what is known about shorebird migration in Colorado.  Ou
 r primary focus will be Prewitt Reservoir in Washington County with possibl
 y additional visits to a few playas in Morgan County.  Depending on the flo

 t charges an entrance fee.  It’s about $28/person/day.  For info go to http
