 >Susan Alexander </strong>at Buffalo Peaks Ranch for an en plein air painti
 ng workshop.</p><p><img src="images/Woman-painting-plein-air.jpg" /></p><p>
 <u><strong>En Plein Air: Landscape Painting</strong></u></p><div>This multi
 media painting workshop will focus on painting one or more fairly realistic
  or slightly impressionistic views from Buffalo Peaks Ranch.  After setup a
 nd some brief instruction, participants will have the option of painting al
 ong with the instructor or dispersing to a favorite location on the ranch t
 o continue en plein air painting.  The plan is to have coffee, tea, and muf
 fins as we set up at the Main House followed by a short overview lesson beg
 inning around 10:30am. Our lesson will focus on: mixing realistic colors fo
 r this part of Colorado, composition, using eye level and perspective to ge
 t distance while having landscape features clear ("fixing" what the camera 
 shows), capturing the light and shadows by cementing the sun's position,and
  getting your sky and your ground to agree.<br /><br />Afterwards, particip
 ants choosing paint-along can develop their painting in stages as I will st
 op and visit you at your canvas as we progress.  I will give everyone some 
 index-card-sized tools that I use to keep my painting consistent, including
  a color matching viewer card, a sun direction arrow, and a shadow "clock".
  If you are new to painting and wish to have your materials and supplies pr
 ovided please let us know ASAP. I will also show you how to mix all your co
 lors from the three primaries, plus white and burnt umber.</div><div> </div
 ><div>This workshop will meet you where you are as a painter.  Towards the 
 end of the workshop around 3pm participants will be invited to share their 
 work if they wish.  Upon registration, participants will be sent a line dra
 wing of the proposed views, a list of suggested supplies, and a couple sket
