 nty Creative Alliance to host artist & educator Susan Alexander at Buff
 alo Peaks Ranch for an en plein air painting workshop.\n\n\n\n\n\nEn Plein 
 Air: Landscape Painting\nThis multimedia painting workshop will focus on pa
 inting one or more fairly realistic or slightly impressionistic views from 
 Buffalo Peaks Ranch.  After setup and some brief instruction, participants 
 will have the option of painting along with the instructor or dispersing to
  a favorite location on the ranch to continue en plein air painting.  The p
 lan is to have coffee, tea, and muffins as we set up at the Main House foll
 owed by a short overview lesson beginning around 10:30am. Our lesson will f
 ocus on: mixing realistic colors for this part of Colorado, composition, us
 ing eye level and perspective to get distance while having landscape featur
 es clear ("fixing" what the camera shows), capturing the light and shadows 
 by cementing the sun's position,and getting your sky and your ground to agr
 ee.\n\nAfterwards, participants choosing paint-along can develop their pain
 ting in stages as I will stop and visit you at your canvas as we progress. 
  I will give everyone some index-card-sized tools that I use to keep my pai
 nting consistent, including a color matching viewer card, a sun direction a
 rrow, and a shadow "clock". If you are new to painting and wish to have you
 r materials and supplies provided please let us know ASAP. I will also show
  you how to mix all your colors from the three primaries, plus white and bu
 rnt umber. This workshop will meet you where you are as a painter.  Towards
  the end of the workshop around 3pm participants will be invited to share t
 heir work if they wish.  Upon registration, participants will be sent a lin
 e drawing of the proposed views, a list of suggested supplies, and a couple
  sketches by the instructor for idea generation. Workshop entry $75.00. Sig
