Conifer Peace Park, located behind the Aspen Park Community Center (26215 S
utton Rd, Conifer, CO). The young aspen grove setting, along with native wi
ldflowers, is a restful place to contemplate peace.\n\n\nTake a walk around
the park or sit on one of the benches. Take a book from the Little Free Pe
ace Library to read.\n\n\nThe park was designed to foster reflections on th
e idea of peace. As you walk around you might ask yourself:\n\n - What does
peace mean to you?\n - How do you find stillness in your life?\n - How do
you foster peace?\n - How can you build bridges with your communities and o
thers?\n - What aspects of peace building are you willing to commit to?\n\n
Various dimensions of the park may help you to answer or deepen your unders
tanding of peace.\n\n - The Peace Park is circular in shape, honoring a sac
red indigenous symbol representing the interconnectedness of life, harmony,
the cycles of nature, and the path of the sun.\n - The Peace Park is arran
ged to also honor the four directions, East, South, West, and North. This i
ndigenous concept represents sacred forces of nature guiding life's journey
.\n - Three peace poles display "May Peace Prevail on Earth" in multiple la
nguages.\n - A wind spinning mandala acts as a focal point for mediation, h
elping to reduce stress and calm the mind.\n - A large entry rock displays
a quote by John Lennon: "Imagine all the people living life in peace." On t
he backside of the rock is the Rotary Club's 4-Way Test, a nonpartisan ethi
cal guide for personal and professional relationships.\n - Two strategicall
y placed benches honor the sun - east for the sunrise and west for the suns
et.\n - A large granite rock at the center of the park honors the heart, th
e epicenter for following true purpose. This enables one to embrace spontan
eity and the simple joys of life.\n - A peace library box for all ages aims
to foster peace, compassion, and literacy.\n\n\n\n\n\n
