Youth Ment al Health First Aid is an interactive eight-hour course that presents an ov erview of mental illness and substance use disorders in the U.S. and introd uces participants to risk factors and warning signs of mental health proble ms, builds understanding of their impact, and overviews common treatments.< /p>
The curriculum includes access to a two hour self-paced course, and a six hour live (plus lunch and breaks) interactive virtual session led by c ertified Mental Health First Aid Instructors.
To attend a class you m ust:
• Complete the self-paced course prior to the scheduled virtual class. You can expect to receive instructions via email for creating your o nline account and completing the required prework 1-2 weeks prior to the cl ass start date.
• Have access to a webcam and microphone on your devi ce.
• A valid email address in order to receive materials and log in.
