 tion Center, NY\n \n Tibetan singing bowls have been used throughout histor
 y since the time of the Buddha Shakyamuni (560-480 B.C.) Singing bowls crea
 te a vibration that stimulates alpha-theta waves in the brain. This state o
 f relaxation connects our subconscious and conscious awareness, it engages 
 both hemispheres of the brain at the same time and improves concentration a
 nd memory. Scientific research has found that healing mechanisms of the bod
 y increase when the brain is functioning in alpha-theta wave states. \n \n 
 Everything in our universe has a vibration and therefore a sound. These fre
 quencies may be so small or far away that we are unable to physically hear 
 them. All of the cells in your body are constantly vibrating. We can absolu
 tely communicate with ourselves on a cellular level by understanding this c
 oncept. We have all heard the saying ‘mind over matter’ and have seen the t
 remendous healing power of the placebo effect. Vibratory input is constantl
 y changing the resonance of our cells – all noise creates physiological cha
 nges and impacts the nervous system. You feel physically different dependin
 g on the sounds around you: listening to two people having a screaming matc
 h, nails on the chalk board, beautiful harp music or peaceful recitations o
 f prayers.\n \n During this meditative experience we will begin by having a
 n introductory talk. We will discuss the chakras and your energy system and
  reflect on the purposes of each chakra. When the discussion has ended we w
 ill begin the journey into sound healing using a variety of Tibetan singing
  bowls, a crystal bowl and a gong. I will be using bowls that have a domina
 nt tone set to stimulate each individual chakra. This will align your energ
 y body and create a clear and peaceful experience that has a lasting effect
