You must use the Park County Sheriff's Office Application Form to apply for this position. There are two part-time positions estimated to be approximately 15-20 regular hours per week with scheduled on-call hours to fulfill the coordinator duties.
Under the direct supervision of the Victim Services Director, the Volunteer Coordinator is primarily responsible for recruiting, training and maintaining volunteers to cover the 24-hour crisis on-call schedule for the southern end of the county (Fairplay, Como, Jefferson, Alma, Hartsel, Lake George and Guffey). The Volunteer Coordinator will also be included in the on-call schedule for this area of the county. This position will be expected to cover at least on weekday shift (6:00am – 5:00pm) per week, one weekday evening shift (5:00pm – 6:00am) per week, one full weekend (Friday 5:00pm to Monday 6:00am) per month and be included in a holiday on-call rotation with the other paid staff. The Volunteer Coordinator will also assist the Director in improving the local referral services for victims of crime.
This position is located in Fairplay, Colorado.
This position requires an individual who has excellent “people” skills, has the ability to work well as a team member, is able to have flexible work hours and is able to tolerate a certain degree of ambiguity regarding the position as it evolves. The applicant must have completed high school and at least 2 years post high school in some kind of human services related field OR experience equal to the same. In addition, the applicant must be able to complete and pass the Sheriff’s Office application process, which includes fingerprinting, and a full background check. The applicant must be able to complete the Victim Service Volunteer training and be able to demonstrate the ability to function successfully as a volunteer.
