COFA Free Kids Turkey Shoot Saturday, November 9th from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM A Great event for the entire family!
Location: Colorado Adventure Point – 10455 W 6th Ave. #150 Denver, CO 80215.
COFA-Christian Outdoor Fellowship of America believes in passing to the next generations our values, skills, and outdoor pastimes. A Turkey Shoot (targets only, no live birds involved) is a great way to do all three at the same time.
kids will shoot a designated amount of BB’s at paper turkey targets to see if they can win a frozen turkey. The scorers will add up the total amount of hits near bullseye to determine the winner. Boys and girls are put into age brackets (8-9, 10-11, 12-13, 14-15). COFA provides the BB guns so everyone has a fair chance at shooting. We don’t allow personal BB guns…just COFA’s!
Other great activities include for all ages of kids, a climbing wall, archery, crafts, outdoor education experiences, and more!! One of the purposes of the Kids’ Turkey Shoot is to get them involved in the outdoors and away from sitting on the couch playing with their electronics. Our kids today, for the most part, have no clue how much fun it can be doing fun things in the outdoors.
That’s what COFA does so well, it helps families and individuals connect with each while doing activities like camping, fishing, ATVing, hunting, hiking, biking, etc. Through COFA’s events like the Kids’ Turkey Shoot, fathers and sons reconnect and build their relationship with each other. Same with mothers and daughters…they reconnect as well. COFA’s ministry is to get families to develop healthy bonds through outdoor events. There will be refreshments available for kids and adults.
Turkey Shoot participants must have a waiver signed by their parent/guardian to participate in the free kids’ turkey shoot. You can sign up at the kid's turkey shoot when you arrive. Just a reminder, if you or the kids aren't doing anything tomorrow morning Saturday, November 9th, bring them down to the COFA Free Kids Turkey Shoot. It starts at 9:00 AM and goes to 12:30. You'll not only have the BB gun shoot, but there is a 5 station beginning archery target range too, a 6 station rock climbing wall, all events manned by COFA and boy scout staff, there is a crafts room for the kids too. There will be plenty of refreshments to buy. This is all indoors and it's free. The website for this event is at: cofausa.org
