The Cannonball Run record was beaten seven times in five weeks
All the pearl-clutching about the morality of performing a Cannonball Run during a global pandemic seems to have been for nothing, with Ed Bolian reporting America’s most illegal record has been beaten seven times in the span of just five weeks.

According to Bolian, who has been in contact with the new record holders, the time to beat is now less than 26 hours. A sub 28-hour Cannonball Run was once unthinkable.

Another article stated that the car, an Audi 8, would have had to average 103 mph based on the shortest route from NYC to Redondo Beach, CA. The actual route has not yet been revealed. The drivers plan to post a youtube video shortly.
As of now their identity has not been disclosed.

My crazy dad once drove from Ohio to Denver in 18 hours straight. He figures he was averaging 90 miles per hour. Back in the late 60's in a Olds 98.
My mom was not happy about that since she was the passenger. "Slow down!"
