...EXTREME FIRE DANGER IN THE MOUNTAINS AGAIN FRIDAY...

.Very hot and very dry conditions with wind gusts of 20 to 35 mph are expected again today which will produce extreme fire danger across the northern and central Colorado mountains this afternoon and evening. While temperatures are expected to be a few degrees cooler than yesterday, there is a bit more of a threat of weak showers producing localized very gusty winds and isolated dry lightning.

Please pay attention to restrictions on fires and fireworks. Check with your local fire department, sheriff, or land managers for details on what is allowed.

...RED FLAG WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM THIS MORNING TO 9 PM MDT THIS EVENING FOR WIND AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR THE MOUNTAINS OF NORTH CENTRAL COLORADO...

* Affected Area...Fire Weather Zones 211...212...213...214...217 and 218.

* Timing...Late Friday morning through Friday evening.

* Winds...Southwest 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.

* Relative Humidity...As low as 8 percent.

* Impacts...Rapid fire growth and spread will be possible under these hot, dry and breezy conditions.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now....or will shortly. A combination of strong winds...low relative humidity...and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.
