The Supreme Court is hearing arguments today over Trump's claim that a President has absolute immunity over anything they do while in office.

Amazingly, we have no idea which way this court will rule on immunity, which - BTW - is not in the constitution.

There is a Latin American nation that gives politicians in office immunity. They found it was hard to maintain a quorum when their legislators kept winding up in jail.

Big incentive to stay in office!

"If the Supreme Court rules that presidents have absolute immunity, Joe Biden should sign executive orders to pack the Court & require it to adopt strict new ethics/recusal rules—and then use the military to enforce them." - Mrs. Betty Bowers

Limited immunity?

While a President should obey the law, he should also be available to avoid nuisance lawsuits while he is commander in chief.

It will be interesting to see how the Supremes rule on this case.

Agreed. I think it's awful that we really don't know how the SC will rule. They might actually give absolute immunity. Then we'd have a monarch.

Seems like we had a whole war to get rid of a king about 250 years ago. Now the Republicans want to bring back the monarchy?
