GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colo. — Hanging Lake trail is expected to reopen on May 1 after the Grizzly Creek Fire burned close to the lake last summer.

Reservations will open on April 1 to buy permits to hike starting May 1. Once they purchase a permit, which includes an exact day and time, hikers will receive information on when to arrive, where to park, how many people are allowed in their group and more.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, capacity limits will stay smaller than previous years. Shuttle service will not resume until later in the season.

Tickets will be available here: visitglenwood.com/
