ABC... As Simple As CBD

In this episode of Keeping Up With The Community, I'm chatting with the folks at Pure Hemp Collective, located in the Kings Valley Plaza of Conifer. 

Your name obviously implies hemp. Could you tell us more about hemp products and what you offer here at Pure Hemp Collective?

We like to provide high quality CBD products. CBD is a non-psychoactive therapeutic component of the hemp plant that we manufacture into a wide range of applications and products. So our main goal is to educate people as to what these things are and show them what products we make that would be best suited for them.

So you make your products on site?

Yes, we formulate our products here on site.

What inspired you to create your product line, Vina Bell?

Vina Bell was inspired by my grandmother who was an Indian medicine woman. She grew hemp and used hemp in her medicines. She was always, "You get it from the garden." So I started making products for myself, for my own pain. Then it grew into a lotion company based in Evergreen.

Do you have anything exciting you want the community to know about?​

Besides Vina Bell, we have a Pure Hemp Collective line which looks more pharmaceutical. And then we are going to have a drink product that is 1000 mg of Vitamin C, beet powder, fermented turmeric, a full mineral profile as we ll as 25 mg of full spectrum CBD. So that's a drink that someone who's sick can have, someone who has a sick child can use, or an athlete who's recovering. It's a product that can help a wide variety of people, whether it's an adult or child.

So there's no THC and it won't get you "high". Can you expand on that?​

Certainly. When we're talking about CBD in general, there are a couple of different oils that are pulled off of the plant in order to make these products. As far as what people understand in terms of the psychoactive of THC, that is not a concern in these products. They're non-psychoactive, and in order for us to be able to put them in the marketplace, they either have to have 0.3% THC or less. So all of our products meet that criteria and are safe for those of us who don't want to engage in anything in the marijuana side or the THC side. 

For someone with an ailment who wants to try CBD, what's the best way for them to find out which products are most suitable for them?​

We really think that face-to-face is the best way. You know, if somebody comes in, sits down with us for a while and talks to us about what their situation is, and what their needs are, that gives us the opportunity get an understanding of them and apply the best product for them without a long period of trial and error. We love when customers come in and feel comfortable sharing their stories with us.

Since we can't prescribe, we always encourage people to visit www.pubmed.com and type in CBD and whatever is ailing them (MS, fibromyalgia, etc.) and that site will tell you the current research so that your getting the information straight from the national Department of Health. From there we can help you determine which products have which delivery systems.
