From the US Forest Service Regarding the Prescribed Burn:

Good Afternoon,

The long anticipated window to begin Prescribed Fire Operations in the Harris Park Area is upon us.

The US Forest Service and Platte Canyon Fire Protection District have been monitoring the weather & fuels conditions, resource availability and are confident we will have an opportunity to burn this Sunday September 30, 2018.

Conditions will be monitored constantly up to the time of the burn, and it will be canceled if conditions are not favorable.

The only planned units will be inside Forest Road 108 (Units L & M) for approximately 280 acres.

Please see attached map for exact location of unit.

The area will be closed during all prescribed fire activities, including the shooting area.

Test fire should start around 10:00am.

Smoke maybe visible throughout the day in the area including the Highway 285 and C-470 Corridors.

For additional information, follow us on Facebook and Twitter @PSICC_NF, #SouthPlatteRD #HarrisParkRx

Thank you, Joe Sean
