Guns Don't Kill People, People Kill People

You guys are funny.

Guns don't kill people, people kill people.

People don't kill people, guns kill people.

Guns don't take lives, people take lives.

People don't take lives, guns take lives.

Did I miss anything. BTW, how many angels can dance on the head of a pin? ROTFLMAO

It's called "circular reasoning", BB.

I guess it would be absurd to draw any conclusions from that "data", especially since no sources were given. And the "data" appears to be totally wrong as well...

The email lastly states that if just four cities with Democratic mayors were removed from the tally of U.S. murders, this would plunge the country from third highest to fourth lowest in the murder rankings.

In 2012, Chicago had 500 homicides, Detroit 386, New Orleans 193 and the District of Columbia 88 — for a total of 1,167.

That same year, the United States had 14,827 homicides. If we subtract those four cities, the murder total becomes 13,660. This would've given a homicide rate of 4.35, for a drop of only 3 or 4 spots in the world rankings — nowhere near the bottom four. (The bottom fourth and fifth spots are held by Japan and Iceland with a homicide rate around 0.3 per 100,000.)

If the number of murders rather than the rate is also adjusted by removing those four cities, the U.S. would drop only two spots — past Colombia and Pakistan — but would still rank in the top 10. Again, this is nowhere near the bottom four, as the email claims

Today I swung my front door wide open and placed my Remington 12ga
semi-auto shotgun right in the doorway. I left 9 shells beside it,
then left it alone and went about my business. While I was gone, the
mailman delivered my mail, the neighbor boy across the street mowed
the yard, a girl walked her dog down the street, and quite a few cars
stopped at the stop sign near the front of my house. After about an
hour, I checked on the gun. It was still sitting there, right where I
left it. It hadn't moved itself. It certainly hadn't killed anyone,
even with the numerous opportunities it had presented to do so. In
fact, it hadn't even loaded itself.

Well you can imagine my surprise, with all the hype by the Left and
the Media about how dangerous guns are and how they kill people.
Either the media is wrong, or I'm in possession of the laziest gun in
the world.
The United States is third in Murders throughout the World. But if
you take out just four cities: Chicago, Detroit, Washington, DC and

Well, I'm off to check on my spoons. I hear they're making people fat.

Otis, it is dishonest to cut and paste the work of someone else and pass it off as your own work. I found this same post on numerous other sites. Either you are very prolific in posting in hundreds of social media and blogs, or you are passing off someone else's work. At the very least it is a courtesy to others here to let them know that you are copying something that you found elsewhere, at the very most, it can be a copyright infringement that may create liability to the owners of this site. If you are unable to create original content, then at least acknowledge that the content belongs to someone else.

Please pass that along to Israel. Oh wait, if they adopted that thinking, there won't be an Israel.

A gun is an inanimate object, a tool. Right? My point supports the OP in that he's apparently putting it out there a gun is an inanimate object. Therefore, it cannot kill someone. What makes that any different than my posit that a gun, as an inanimate object, cannot save a life either?

Yes, a gun is an inanimate object, as is every other modern technology that extents peoples lives daily. Thereby no medical device can save a life by its self, without human interaction. I would argue the mere presence of a gun has saved countless lives of the oppressed and oppressors by simply being there.
Example. A man walks up to a heart valve and says "I could really use you," but dies anyway as the heart valve just sits there.

pineinthegrass, this information was recently shown on "50 deadliest cities in the world," by Business Insider, not a sexual reference.

Two final comments for the night as I am still trying to maintain a life.
1. If I recall correctly, more people died in Ciudad Juarez last year than all of the US combined.
2. I just love getting my Business Insider. B)

Come on, lighten up Francis.
