The event is described to be a contemplative, participatory service featuring music with an interfaith gospel choir hosted by the Evergreen Interfaith Group at Congregation Beth Evergreen.
6:15 p.m. Impromptu rehearsal for interfaith gospel choir with Rabbi Jamie Arnold
7:00 p.m. Interfaith service/meeting marking Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
7:45 p.m. Gospel music experience
Everyone is welcome to participate in this free, collaborative, informal event. This year, the service will be modeled after a Quaker Meeting, in which we gather with no preset plan other than to share some silence, and create a sacred space where anyone who chooses may stand and speak – to share poetry, prayer, protest, wisdom, remembrances, ‘dreams,’ songs of longing or joy, etc.
