The 15th Annual Safe Summer Kick Off will be held on Saturday, June 6th from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm at Silverthorne Elementary. This event is sponsored by the Silverthorne Police Department and other emergency service agencies in Summit County.
This event is a great way to kick off the summer by providing education and equipment to keep children safe for the summer. During this event, there will be free giveaways of bike/skateboarding helmets, water bottles, fishing poles and other safety equipment. There will be free fingerprinting for children, helmet decorating, music and fun activities and a chance to take a tour of emergency service vehicles and equipment. There will be a car-seat inspection area to check for proper fit and safety by certified technicians. With a donation, new car seats will be available. Once again, there will be a new-bike giveaway. This event funded through donations given by The Summit Foundation, Freeport-McMorRan Copper & Gold Foundation, Wal-Mart and the EMS Board.
If anyone has questions, they may contact the Silverthorne Police Department at (970) 262-7320.
