Interested in applying for our 2016 Prospective Member class?

Please participate in one of our orientation meetings:
October 12th
November 9th
December 14th

More details soon to be found on our Team website, http://www.alpinerescueteam.org/

Alpine Rescue Team has responded to wilderness emergencies since 1959: providing mountain search and rescue, day or night, 24/7.

Alpine is the only nationally accredited mountain rescue team in Colorado with memoranda of understanding to provide search and rescue services with three different county sheriffs. (Clear Creek / Jefferson / Gilpin)

At a national level, Alpine Rescue Team meets the 2004 FEMA Standards as a Type 1 Mountain & Technical SAR Team.

Alpine is one of only eleven mountain rescue teams in the state of Colorado that is fully accredited by the Mountain Rescue Association, an international organization of teams specializing in mountain search and rescue, and safety education.

Interested in becoming a Member? We anticipate that the next prospective member class will begin in either in the Fall of 2015 or January of 2016. If you are interested in participating in our upcoming class, we recommend that you start attending our Wednesday night classroom trainings in the late summer/early Fall of 2015.

Any interested individuals are welcome to attend our Wednesday night classroom trainings at our headquarters. Some Wednesday night trainings are field trainings, which are not open to the public or prospective members. Please check the Team Event Calendar on the Team website for location and type of training.

Prospective members go through 8 to 10 classroom trainings and 4 to 6 field trainings before they start participating with the rest of the team. After an evaluation period lasting upwards of 5 months, those that meet the requirements are then eligible to be voted on by the team to become field active members.

The team looks for individuals who wish to help others and have the time and desire to contribute. No special skills are required. Attitude is much more important than skill level, and specific skills needed to participate will be taught.
