Course description: Internationally acclaimed artist Bruce Marion is back in Evergreen for one day only! How do you find the balance between abstraction and realism, to create a compelling, contemporary landscape? How much information do you need to convey to keep your abstract landscape loose, but still identifiable to viewers? The answers will be explored in this special, one-time class taught by artist Bruce Marion, who's mastered painting in the fine line between styles in his abstracted landscapes and figurative work. Using palette knifes and brushes, you'll learn to create abstracted trees and foliage in front of a reflective water body. You will not only come away with techniques for getting amazing texture in your paintings, but also learn how to shift color and value with glazing transparent layers of paint.
