BOREAS PASS RAILROAD DAY is Saturday August 20.

Ride a rail car along the this track during the 21st annual Boreas Pass Railroad Day, 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Saturday, August 20. While you are there, you can tour the roundhouse, restored depot, South Park hotel, two historic schools, and three historic railroader's homes. On Boreas Pass, stop at the Section House for free pancakes, coffee, and juice all day (until they're gone), and taste some delicious Dutch oven cooking. Listen to theĀ history of the South Park Line from Denver-based railroad historian and author Tom Klinger while you enjoy your pancakes. Walk along the restored track at Rocky Point for great views. Don't miss High Line Railroad Park in Breckenridge to see Engine No. 9. It traveled the South Park route for over 50 years. After a day of railroading history, stay in Como for the civic association's monthly potluck dinner and bingo session. You could win over $100!

Spend a day learning about the railroading history (1879 to 1937) of Como, Boreas Pass, and South Park.
