Please join us as we officially turn over the brand new track chair key to Staunton State Park so the Staunton State Park Track Chair Program can begin, offering disabled visitors the opportunity to enjoy our beautiful trails reserving a track chair for free!

Friends of Staunton State Park Mark Madsen Key Ceremony October 14 2016

The Friends of Staunton State Park invite the public to attend the ceremonial turning over of the key to the first track chair for Staunton State Park’s Track Chair Program on October 14, 2016 at 11:00am at the Ranch Hand Group Picnic Area at Staunton State Park, 12102 S. Elk Creek Rd, Pine, CO 80470.

In August, the Friends of Staunton State Park in partnership with Mark Madsen’s family raised over $40,000 to help improve disabled accessibility at Staunton, the first such program at any Colorado State Park! With the purchase of one, and eventually two track chairs, efforts to improve trails, possible scholarships, and new partnerships formed with organizations that serve the disabled, we are thrilled to say that now almost anyone can come enjoy the great outdoors in the beautiful Rocky Mountains of Colorado!

Once implemented, anyone wishing to come explore the outdoors who needs these chairs may reserve them free of charge by calling the park at 303-816-0912 to make the necessary arrangements.

Come help us celebrate this historic accomplishment! Light refreshments will be served.

Location Staunton State Park, 12102 S Elk Creek Rd, Pine CO 80470
