Fireside Arts and Music Presents "Kan U Uke? U Kan!" 

Led by Tyler Phillips

Kan U Uke? U Kan!  is a collaborative exploration of the wonderful world of Ukulele!  Designed for grades 2-5 (K and 1 upon request), this course gets kiddos strumming on this fun and accessible instrument right away.  Ukulele is a great way to introduce your little ones to music making while gathering knowledge that transfers to the guitar, banjo, mandolin, and many other instruments.  If your student has a Uke, that's great!  If not, we have enough for the whole class.  Open to students in grades 2-5. Recital date is March 16, 2017

Tyler is an award-winning composer, multi-instrumentalist, teaching artist, and dramatist currently living and working in Denver, CO after nearly a decade of work in music and theatre in New York City. He is the frontman of Brooklyn, NY-Born Indie Folk/Rock group, The Winchester Local, and composer/director of the critically acclaimed Off-Off Broadway Production, "Under The Greenwood Tree". Tyler is honored to have had the opportunity to work as a teaching artist in music and theatre at institutions in the US including StageDoor Theatre (Conifer, CO), Broadway Bound Kids (New York, NY), The Zachary Scott Theatre (Austin, TX), NJY Camps (Milford, PA), Stapleton Music Lab (Denver, CO), and the Arkansas Rep (Little Rock, AR). In New York City, Tyler founded Phillstock Entertainment, a group dedicated to the empowerment of musicians and theatre artists creating original material, and also worked in theatrical licensing for The Rodgers and Hammerstein Organization. As a performer, playwright, director, and composer, his works have been seen and heard at Sundance Film Festival (Park City, UT), The York Theater (NYC), The Laurie Beechman Theater (NYC), the New York Musical Festival (NYC), The Zachary Scott Theatre Center (Austin, TX), The Flea Theater (NYC), Baldwin-Wallace Conservatory (Cleveland, OH), the New American Theatre (Los Angeles, CA), and other prestigious American venues.

Fireside Arts and Music is an incorprated Non-Profit Organization in the State of Colorado. FAM's first learning facility will open in Conifer, CO in May of 2017.
