What is WIC? WIC (Women, Infants, Children) is a federally funded assistance program at Jefferson County Public Health that helps families help themselves. WIC families get monthly supplies of foods high in protein, iron, vitamin C and calcium.
At WIC, you can get answers to your health and nutrition questions. WIC helps mothers make infant feeding choices and provides breastfeeding support, children’s growth checkups and referrals to other health services.
Who qualifies for WIC? All kinds of families – young mothers living with their parents, families going to/back to school, and working families may qualify. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have children under age five, call 303-239-7143 to find out if you qualify for WIC or click here for more information: http://jeffco.us/public-health/healthy-families/women-infants-and-children/
