Jefferson County Weed and Pest and Jeffco Open Space are co-hosting a new series this year for Jeffco landowners that will provide an understanding and appreciation for Jeffco lands and their ecological benefits. This free series will consist of evening seminars held on the third Wednesday of every month, at the Jeffco Open Space office. Topics will include forest health, native plants, noxious weeds, re-vegetation and co-existing with wildlife.

The first seminar, Forest Pest Update, will be held on Wednesday, January 18, 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at 700 Jefferson County Parkway, Suite 100, Golden, CO 80401. The presenter for this topic, Dan West, Colorado State Forest Service Entomologist, will speak about current conditions and insect pests in our evergreen forests.
