Parkinson’s disease is a disorder of the nervous system that affects movement, muscle control, balance and cognition. The disease touches people of all ages, but most frequently occurs in individuals aged 55-75.
Approximately 60,000 people are diagnosed in the United States every year. At any given time, there are roughly 3,000-4,000 individuals on the Front Range that could benefit from improved treatments for Parkinson’s disease.
