Park County Sheriff’s Office, Fairplay Dispatch Center and Platte Canyon Fire Protection District are running a Wildfire Evacuation Drill, May 20th 2017 starting around 10:45 am. The drill will take place this year in the Elk Creek Highlands and Elk Creek Meadows subdivisions and will involve a simulated evacuation of homes under wildfire threat. Participation of Residents is voluntary, but highly encouraged. Residents living in these subdivisions can learn more about the drill during the Elk Creek Highlands/Meadows HOA meeting on May 3rd starting at 7:00pm.
All district residents are highly encouraged to enrolled their phone numbers in the county’s emergency alert system, linked below. This free and easy enrollment allows a homeowner to be notified for evacuations.
