LWV Jeffco to host school board info meeting Sept. 26

Are you curious about school boards?
If so, here is an opportunity to learn about the responsibilities, powers and limits of a school board. This year, three of the five board seats for Jefferson County Public Schools will be open.

How do the members collaborate with the superintendent, district, staff and students? How are they accountable to the community?

Join your neighbors and the League of Women Voters Jeffco at this discussion on Sept. 26 from 7 to 9 p.m. at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 9200 W. 10th Ave., Lakewood, 80215. The meeting is free and open to the public.

The League’s Education team will host a panel of experts to explain and discuss how a school board sets goals, adopts policies and keeps students at the foremost of decision making. No campaigning will be allowed.
