I-70/Kipling Interchange Public Meeting - Thursday, Nov. 30
Join the Colorado Department of Transportation at their upcoming public meeting where they will share information and gather public feedback regarding the latest project design. Your input is important, and will be considered by CDOT and the Federal Highway Administration prior to finalizing the Environmental Assessment.
The public meeting will take place on Thursday, Nov. 30 from 5 - 7 pm. at the Wheat Ridge Recreation Center, 4005 Kipling Street.
INTERCHANGE RECONSTRUCTION PLANNED
In late 2016, the Colorado Department of Transportation began the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and Preliminary Design phase for improvements at the I-70/Kipling Street interchange. Following a public meeting held in March 2017, the Diverging Diamond interchange configuration was confirmed as the preferred alternative. This new configuration is expected to provide improved operations and substantial safety benefits for all modes of travel.
HOW WILL A DIVERGING DIAMOND OPERATE?
Traffic on Kipling Street will cross to the opposite side of the road as they travel under I-70 through the interchange. Left turns onto and off of the I-70 ramps will not cross conflicting traffic, resulting in fewer crashes and improved traffic flow.
