Course description: Bring images of an artist who inspires you and that you would like to translate into a sculptural piece. It could be a painting you create on a vase or images from a painting you turn into a figurative sculpture. The first two weeks of this class will be dedicated to learning several techniques of hand building and or wheel throwing pieces that could be cut and assembled into your sculpture. The last two days of class will be focused on surface treatment and how to decorate with carving, slip and glazes. The last day of class we will be unloading the kiln and looking at our pieces. (TBA)
NOTE: CERAMICS IS LOCATED IN THE BASEMENT OF OUR OLD BUILDING, THE MILLER HOUSE, which is next door to Buchanan Rec Center.
