Course description: Painting the Human Figure is an eight-week course to develop skills rendering the figure in oil. A continuation of Ed's class Drawing the Figure (not required), these sessions focus on painting longer poses from direct observation. They explore composition, brushwork and the mixture of skin tones with a simplified palette. The goal: finished paintings from life study in interior space—clothed and unclothed, male and female. The first four weeks present a different model each week. The last four weeks feature a long pose at each class, devoting two weeks to each of two different models and set-ups. Beginning through advanced oil painters.
