As a woman, you should be able to run anywhere and at any time of day without thinking about your safety. Unfortunately, safety concerns are a reality in today's society. In addition to making smart choices about where you run, what time of day and who you go with, be prepared by learning both psychological and physical techniques that may assist you as a female runner. Join a group of other other female walkers and runners at this Jefferson County Open Space Ranger-led self defense class. Launched in 2016 in response to visitor feedback concerning safety in our parks, specifically for women, the Rangers designed this program to provide basic psychological and physical self-defense techniques. From prevention skills to punching and kicking strikes, participants will leave feeling empowered and confident. Learn to love your voice and know your strength!
Proceeds from the class will be donated to The Action Center in Lakewood. We will also accept in-kind donations at the class if you would like to contribute any food and/or clothing (http://
