Tips For Climbing Fourteeners And Other Backcountry Adventures: Lessons learned from the front lines of mountain rescue!

Alpine member Paul “Woody” Woodward is a 30-year veteran of the Alpine Rescue Team. He spent 28 years as a mountain guide and the Executive Director of Horizon Adventures, Inc. He is currently the Operations Leader of Alpine Rescue Team and was the president of the Colorado Search and Rescue Board the past 4 years. Woody has climbed over 350 of Colorado’s fourteeners and has been involved in numerous international climbs.He will talk about the common actions that lead to accidents and people getting lost in the Rocky Mountains.

Skills for the Hills is Alpine Rescue Team's public wilderness and backcountry education program. Our classes are free, however we appreicate donations at the door. We never charge you, your family or the local authorities for search and rescue.
