Nancy McNab is a geologist and mountain enthusiast who is passionate about interpreting the origins and history of the Colorado mountains that are so beautifully revealed in the rocks exposed throughout the state. Nancy spent the majority of her career as a geologist performing site evaluations, design and construction oversight of large civil works like dams, tunnels, highway bridges and water resource projects for a large national consulting engineering firm. Generally working in the western U.S, she was manager of geotechnical engineering in the Denver region and also worked on geologic mapping projects, geologic hazard evaluation, resource evaluation and hazardous waste cleanup. 

Since 2008 she has volunteered extesively for the Clear Creek Ranger District of the Arapaho National Forest.  Nancy works as the Volunteer Coordinator for the Mt Evans program, acts as an interpretive guide on the mountain in the summer and has been involved in school outreach programs with the District.  She developed a "Ski with a Ranger" program for Loveland Ski area where she gives interpretive programs in the winter.  She is actively involved in developing interpretive programs and providing training in interpreting geology with other organizations including Rocky Mountain NP and Denver Botanic Gardens Mt Goliath program.
