Jonathan Nicklow: A Decade of Printmaking
July 13, 2018 to August 25, 2018
Opening: July 13, 4-7pm
CAE Gallery
Exploring the idea of the multiple in printmaking, Jonathan Nicklow works outside of the margin of the edition, using traditional and mix media printmaking methods in prints, sculpture, and installation. His work considers society's developmental impact on the natural world, the human condition, and fairytales. His art is in constant progress, allowing him to build and discover different layers of meaning and new developments. Each work Jonathan creates leads him towards a different direction but always concerned with the same themes. His art is a conversation through visual poetics allowing duality, language play, and the accumulation of his developing iconography.
Jonathan received his BFA in Painting at Savannah College of Art and Design and his MFA in Printmaking at the University of Colorado, Boulder. His art has been exhibited nationally and internationally and is included in many collections around the world, including the Germany, Argentina, and the Smithsonian Institute. He currently teaches at Metro State University. Jonathan and his wife have lived in Evergreen for over twenty years, along with their two cats and dog, Luna.
Center for the Arts Evergreen is open Monday-Friday from 10:00-5:00 and Saturdays from 12:00-5:00. Closed Sundays.
