Felting and Scarf Workshops Georgetown Heritage Center and Cultural Arts

Scarf & Felting Workshops with Karin Niedfeldt
20 October 2018

Join Karin Niedfeldt for her needle felting and scarf making workshops! Sign up for one or both!

Felting Workshop
10am-1pm
Needle felting is a process that uses sharp, barbed needles to take loose wool fibers and turn them into wool sculptures. In this class we will make a bird or whatever your muse wants to make. This is an introduction to needle felting techniques. Because the needles are very sharp, only children over the age of 10 are allowed. If you have some experience, please come and I will help you with more advanced techniques also.

Scarf Workshop
2pm-6pm
Wet Felting: Cobweb Silk/Merino Wool Scarf
Using the softest merino wool that has been blended with silk fibers, participants will learn the basics of wet felting to make a very soft, lightweight scarf. The process of wet felting uses an olive oil soap gel, water and rolling in bubble wrap to make items.
