Jeremy had a rough start to his life, he was born premature and weighed 2.9 ounces, and lived his first two months in the hospital which included many surgeries.
Jeremy has lived in Evergreen with his family for 21 of his 22 years. He attended Dennison Elementary until 3rd grade, and then attended Rocky Mountain Academy of Evergreen through middle school. He graduated in 2014 from Evergreen High School. He is currently a senior at CU Denver, majoring in Marketing.
Jeremy’s family consists of his sister Michelle who currently lives in Ft. Collins, his mom Kathy who is a preschool teacher at Lookout Mountain Preschool in Genesee, and dad Jim who was a realtor in Evergreen for many years and currently works for Colorado Department of Transportation.
Jeremy is on the autism spectrum and has participated in the Evergreen Park and Recreation special needs program run by Maren Schreiber, taking part in the basketball and golf program for many years.
Jeremy has been diagnosed with an extremely rare aggressive cancer called NUT Midline Carcinoma, which targets mostly male, young adults. His cancer started in his left lung, collapsing the lung and making it difficult to eat and breathe. He has had two bronchoscopies to open his lung and laser part of the tumor. This tumor is non-operable because of the location. It has also metastasized to some lymph nodes and a bone on his brain. Jeremy will need radiation as well as chemo to fight this terrible battle!
