Arkansas Headwaters First Day Hike 2019

Join us in celebrating the new year with this nationwide First Day Hike of 2019 event! Our guided 3.5-mile hike includes beautiful scenery and lunch at the midway point.
Lily Pond Twin Lakes Overlook Hike
This 3.5-mile round-trip hike will be lead on a US Forest Service road, weather and snow conditions permitting. (Never fear, we have a backup hike in case of weather!)
The trail climbs on modest slopes and switchbacks through forested terrain with a number of beautiful open view areas. At the halfway point, lunch/snacks will be enjoyed while taking in the gorgeous panorama of Mt. Elbert and Twin Lakes.
This hike is offered to you at no charge and will be lead by AHRA Volunteer Naturalist, Bob Hickey. Call AHRA at 719-539-7289 to register and receive more information.
Pets allowed on leash or direct command. Not recommended for children under the age of 8.
