BACKGROUND: Each year on the first Saturday in June it is National Trails Day. Events held throughout the United States help promote awareness of the wide variety of benefits that trails provide, encourage people to discover their local trials, raise awareness of trail issues and instill excitement for the outdoors. We will be meeting in the EAST Elk Meadow parking lot, off of Bergen Peak Dr..
WHAT WE WILL BE DOING: Volunteers will be giving back to the trails they utilize and love by helping to maintain areas that need a little TLC. Participants will be rerouting a portion of the Painters Paws Trail to create a more safe and sustainable route for our visitors. Volunteers will also be building a boardwalk.
