Celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Transcontinental Railroad with a decidedly Colorado twist.

The top scholars in railroad history explore the struggles undertaken to build one continuous line of track from coast to coast and the resulting impact this had on our nation’s settlement and economy.

Journey to Promontory - 7:00PM-9:00PM - Watch the documentary film Journey To Promontory by Richard Luckin. Stay for remarks from the filmmaker after the screening.

Day at the Colorado Railroad Museum - 10:00AM-2:00PM
Join us for a day of programming at the Colorado Railroad Museum especially for symposium participants!
The Colorado Railroad Museum opens at 9:00AM and symposium visitors are encouraged to explore unique programs that include:
• Roundhouse tours including Turntable
• A William Henry Jackson Photography Exhibit
• Highlights from the Museum collection
• Open rail cars
*A coffee bar will be available on-site for this event.
