Calling all young explorers! If your child loves being outside and being active in nature, then sign up for our Explore More! Forest Immersion Camp! These half-day camps are focused on supervised, self-directed play in nature. Science tools and art materials will be offered to campers, but the focus of these camps will be to allow kids to explore the forest in a safe, fun and unstructured way. Nature play encourages opportunities for deeper, self-directed learning, choice, teamwork, in addition to emotional and social development. Our Forest Immersion camps foster a deep connection to nature and encourage kids to be kids. Sign up soon before they fill up!

About our Staff and Volunteers
Our staff has more than 15 years experience with outdoor and environmental education. Our volunteers have all gone through extensive training. The ratio of adult to child during summer day camp is 1:7.

Evergreen Audubon now has an extension of the Nature Center adjacent to Alderfer/Three Sisters Park. We are on Buffalo Park Road between Evergreen High School and the first parking lot for Alderfer/Three Sisters Park. This wonderful location has classrooms and access to 15 miles of trails for the many educational programs we offer. Monthly Chapter Meetings are located here the first Thursday of every month. This is the primary location for staff as well so stop by to visit.

Via I-70: Take I-70 to the Evergreen exit (#252 westbound; #251 eastbound). Then proceed down State HWY 74 (also called Evergreen Parkway) for approximately 8 miles. Just past Evergreen Lake is the intersection with County HWY 73. Turn right onto 73 and proceed for a 0.5 mile to the first stoplight. Turn right onto Buffalo Park Road and continue for 1 mile. Our facility is on the right hand side of the road and you will see a sign that says Basecamp at the top and our name listed below. Parking is behind the building.

From South of Denver:  Take US HWY 285 west to the Parmalee Gulch Road exit. Turn right and proceed towards Kitteredge for 5.5 miles. At the juncture with state HWY 74 (also called Bear Creek Road) turn left and drive through downtown Evergreen. Turn left onto County HWY 73 and proceed for a half mile to the first stoplight. Turn right onto Buffalo Park Road and continue for 1 mile. Our facility is on the right hand side of the road and you will see a sign that says Basecamp at the top and our name listed below. Parking is behind the building.
