In continuing with the service abroad theme for our Adult Education this year, Congregation Beth Evergreen will be pleased to hear from three speakers for this installment of Tuesdays with Morim.

Gloria Newman just completed her 10th trip to the Roma (gypsies) in Romania. She has helped in orphanages, built churches, pre-schools in small villages and big cities. There are Roma children in remote areas that still do not attend school. Gloria has many heartening stories to share.

Jason Powers journeyed into the jungle hills of North East India, as detailed in his magnificent book, One Man’s Road. The photos alone will inspire and encourage the reader to know the wonder of Jason’s many great adventures to far-off, remote lands in India. His several journeys to and from the remote villages were often almost impossible and thrilling, but always worth the sacrifice.

Dede Wagner traveled to the Philippines to build a bridge between our countries and to bring them assistance and loving support. She went to villages with dirt floors where people ate on rocks and wood.  Dede met girls who had been abused and boys in prison for protecting their female relatives. She wrote a book to share the joy and tears, the uplifting encouragement, the laughter and funny true-life stories, and what she has learned.
