National statistics indicate that Colorado students lead the nation in use of vaping devices. In addition, Colorado is also one of the few states where marijuana is legal, for adult use. In this ever-changing day and age, parents and schools must adapt in order to provide the most comprehensive approach to safe guard our youth against the harm that drugs can cause. With that in mind, Jeffco Schools are approaching this dilemma with a multifaceted approach with our dedicated nurse professionals, and warm hand-offs to industry professionals.

The presentation this evening will discuss these changing times and the measures Jeffco has embedded into our schools to protect, educate and support students with substance use issues.
