A Celebration of American Indian Art, Culture, and Dance

Join us for a weekend of family fun!

Award-winning American Indian artists will sell and demonstrate authentic artwork in a juried show alongside a two-day Powwow honoring American Indians, American Indian veterans, and all other veterans. Entertainment includes performances, music, and hands-on activities, as well as HawkQuest presenting live hawk and eagle demonstrations. Delicious cuisine from Tocabe and the Fort Restaurant will be available for purchase both days.

Tesoro is delighted to announce that Southern Cheyenne leader and artist, George Levi (Southern Cheyenne Nation) will be leading our Powwow for our 20th Anniversary Indian Market Powwow, June 6 & 7, 2020. Our veteran honoree will be Viet Nam vet and nationally acclaimed artist, Harvey Pratt (Southern Cheyenne Nation). He was awarded by the Smithsonian American Indian Museum in Washington DC to create a war memorial for American Indian veterans who fought bravely in American wars. Mr. Pratt competed for the commission with over 1,000 artists for the commission. The installation of the national Memorial will be Veterans Day in 2020. Mr. Pratt and many other Southern Cheyenne are direct descendants of William Bent and his Cheyenne wife, Owl Woman. 

The Indian Market Powwow and Market brings over 40 Indian nations together to educate and share with the public, Indian Culture through art, dance, demonstrations, and celebrations. Families can enjoy interactive activities, storytelling and more! 

Hawkquest will be bringing live eagles, hawks and raptors for education and demonstration. The live eagle will lead the Grand Entry to the Powwow followed by our Color Guard and honored veterans, and dancers.
