Join us in Denver, CO to show the outdoor community's support of youth activists and rally around climate change.

We're rallying at the Colorado Capitol on January 31st, while our industry is convened in Denver, to show that our community will not tolerate federal government inaction on climate. Our industry and community at large are responsible for harnessing our collective power to drive systemic change.

The Climate Rally is a women-led, grassroots demonstration of the outdoor community’s commitment to climate action. We stand with the youth activists who have been leading the call on the climate crisis.

THE PLAN:
1:30: Gather by the Blue Bear in front of the Colorado Convention Center
2:00-3:00: March as a group (abiding by traffic laws and staying on sidewalks)
3:00-4:00: Rally and speakers (including Jeremy Jones, Clare Gallagher, Madhvi4EcoEthics, Haven Coleman and Deenaalee, among others) on the West steps of the Colorado Capitol
4:15: Press Huddle

Being able to go outside for recreation is a privilege that most people in the world don't have. It is imperative that we recognize our privilege and do everything we can to protect the environment, expand outdoor access and create a community with more representation and inclusion.

Clean air, clean water and access to the outdoors is a human right and should not be an activity limited to a privileged few. We know that climate change disproportionately affects communities of color and low-income families, who are statistically significantly likelier to live near polluting power plants, congested highways, toxic waste site and landfills. And the disproportionately high asthma rates in their children reflect this reality.

The facts couldn’t’ be clearer: climate change is the biggest social justice issue of our time. And the urgency calls on us to act now.

This rally is open to the public, and we encourage everyone who believes the outdoor community must step up on climate action to join us.
